Job Description:

Public Transit Dispatcher (Part-time)


Reports To: 

This position will report directly to the MOTA Dispatch Supervisor


Job Overview: 

We are looking to expand our dispatch team! Our dispatchers serve as the first point of contact for community members seeking transportation services in both Mecosta and Osceola counties. The ideal candidate is someone with knowledge of the Mecosta/Osceola area, a great personality, pays attention to detail, and is a team player. Previous dispatch experience is preferred but not required. Job training will be provided for the hired candidate. This is a part-time position, with the potential for full-time employment as our service needs continue to grow. Weekday afternoon hours and Saturdays are required. 


Additional Qualifications:

- Must be at least 18 years of age

- High School Diploma or GED required

- Be able to initiate tasks independently

- Ability to learn and grasp new concepts, practices and procedures

- Be able to grasp and operate software used in transit operations

- Consistently schedule requests with minimal mistakes and/or exceptions

- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen

Job Description:

Mechanic (Part-time)


Reports To: 

This position reports to the Executive Director and/or the Operations Supervisor.


Job Overview: 

We are looking to expand our Mechanic team! This is a safety-sensitive position that performs a variety of skilled mechanical duties required in the maintenance and repair of MOTA transit vehicles. The ideal candidate is someone with multiple years of experience servicing gas and/or diesel vehicles, has a current ASE Certification and/or State of Michigan Mechanic’s license, current CDL or ability to obtain a CDL, and is willing to work safely without supervision. Job training will be provided for the hired candidate. This is a part-time position, with the potential for full-time employment as our service needs continue to grow. Varying weekday hours and Saturdays may be required. 


Additional Job Responsibilities: 

- Responsible for regular inspection and maintenance of all MOTA vehicles, certification of road safety of all MOTA vehicles, and mechanical condition of all MOTA vehicles.

- Maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the garage area.

- Prompt and accurate reporting of any problems associated with the mechanical condition of the fleet or the condition of garage equipment.

- Accurately recording time and parts used on a vehicle on a work order during or upon completion of operation and submitting work orders in a timely manner.

- Reviewing daily vehicle check lists, noting and repairing any problem that may have been noted by the vehicle operator and supervisory team. 

- Maintaining up-to-date records of all work performed on MOTA transit vehicles.

- Communicating on a regular basis with the Executive Director and/or the Operations Supervisor regarding the condition of the MOTA fleet and professionally presenting any problems associated with our transit vehicles.


Required Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or GED required

- Be able to initiate tasks independently without direct supervision

- Ability to learn and grasp new concepts, practices and procedures

- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
