We're Hiring!

FUll-TIme Driver

  • Reports To: 
  • This position reports directly to the MOTA Operations Supervisor.


  • Job Overview: 
  • We are looking to expand our driving team! As a MOTA driver, you will serve as the first point of contact with community members seeking rural public transportation services in both Mecosta and Osceola counties. Under the direct supervision of the Operations Supervisor, our drivers are responsible for operating MOTA fleet vehicles in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate is someone with knowledge of the Mecosta/Osceola area, a current P-Endorsement, an outgoing personality, and a team player. Currently, we have needs for drivers for both morning and afternoon shifts, with our newest team members being required to fill those areas of need as determined by the operations supervisor. 


  • Additional requirements include but are not limited to-
  • - Follow traffic laws and regulations at all times.
  • - Load and unload passengers using wheelchair lifts when necessary.
  • - Collect fares from passengers.
  • - Maintain accurate records of maintenance checks and daily fare totals.
  • - Report any accidents, incidents, or maintenance issues to MOTA management team. 


  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • - Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • - Class C License (P-Endorsement highly preferred).
  • - High School Diploma or GED required.
  • - Ability to learn and grasp new concepts, practices and procedures.
  • - Be able to grasp and operate software used in transit operations.
  • - Consistently schedule requests with minimal mistakes and/or exceptions.
  • - Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.


  • Benefits:
  • - Accrued sick time (Full-time only).
  • - Company paid life insurance (Full-time only).
  • - MERS retirement (Full-time only).
  • - Starting Rate: $20.25/Hour.

through the Rides to Wellness program

at HALF the cost of standard travel rates!


That means -

$7.50 for inner county travels per ride

$22.50 for outer county travels per hour

to any authorized Veteran Affairs medical facility.
